OBSCENE Casts Rebecca Gibian | Cinematic Audio Series
Rebecca Gibian to Lead OBSCENE as Zoe Films Expands into Cinematic Audio
The Montreal actor joins writer-director Victoria lynn Weston’s new historical series, accompanied by an original short film
Zoe Films, Inc. is expanding into cinematic audio with OBSCENE, a new series starring Montreal actor Rebecca Gibian. Victoria lynn Weston wrote the series and will direct the production.
OBSCENE explores power, reputation and the dangerous line between truth and obscenity. However, Zoe Films will keep Gibian’s character and the central story under wraps for now.
A New Cinematic Audio Series
Zoe Films plans to begin recording OBSCENE in November 2026. The production will combine theatrical performances, original music and richly layered sound design. Together, these elements will create an experience shaped by the dramatic language of cinema.
“I have worked in film for more than thirty years. Cinematic audio gives me an entirely different canvas,” said Weston. “It lets the audience enter a character’s memories, fears and private confrontations. You don’t simply watch the story. You step inside it.”
Rebecca Gibian Takes the Lead
Weston chose Gibian after a compelling audition.
“Rebecca can project strength and authority while revealing everything moving beneath the surface,” Weston said. “This role needs an actor who can command the story through voice alone. Rebecca captured that quality from her first audition.”
Gibian will lead the series alongside a cast that Zoe Films will reveal at a later date.
An Original Short Film
In addition, Zoe Films is developing a companion short film starring Gibian. Rather than repeat the audio narrative, the film will serve as a visual prologue.
The short will introduce the atmosphere and psychological world of OBSCENE. Meanwhile, Zoe Films will hold back the larger story and its central revelations.
This approach gives the project two distinct dimensions. The audio series will immerse listeners in its dramatic world. The short film will offer a brief and evocative glimpse inside that world.
